As a server, it is important for you to understand the importance of your role as part of the Food and Beverage Department. Responsible for serving food and beverage items to customers in a friendly, enthusiastic, professional, and timely manner. Clean, set and re-set tables continuously, assuming responsibility for station, tables and side duties. Take orders for and serve all food and beverage requests, using suggestive selling techniques. Clear all tables during service. Control customer checks and secure proper payment. Ensure station and table set-ups are complete and perform various side duties as assigned by the supervisor. JOB PROCEDURES:
Interact with all guests in a polite and helpful manner and learn names and personally recognize our regulars;
Present menus, make recommendations and answer questions regarding food and beverages.
Ability to describe all menu items and daily specials, prices and methods of preparation. And to use suggestive selling techniques to encourage the guests to choose items that are house specialties.
⢠Receive and serve food and beverage orders to guests. Perform set up duties as requested to include side stations, storage areas and food staging area.
⢠Perform general cleaning tasks utilizing cleaning to adhere to health and safety standards
⢠Fold napkins for meal periods to maintain an adequate supply.
⢠Perform other duties, side jobs as requested, such as cleaning unexpected spills and executing special customer requests.
⢠Assisting all teammates on the floor during peak hours of operation.
⢠To have knowledge of all operating hours of facilities and to be aware of all upcoming events.
⢠Assigned side work at beginning and end of each scheduled shift to be completed and checked by supervisor.
⢠Clear and reset tables in restaurant and bar area.
⢠Knowledge of the appropriate table settings and service ware
⢠Report all equipment problems to restaurant manager.
⢠Assist the restocking and replenishment of supplies.
⢠Be available to fill in as needed to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the restaurant as directed by the manager.
⢠Report to shifts with proper uniform and grooming according to COGC standards and policies
⢠When answering the phones, use the COGC standard phone greeting.
⢠Work varying schedules to reflect the business needs. In addition, attendance at all scheduled training sessions and meetings is required. Employees with irregular attendance will be subject to disciplinary action, up to including termination of employment.
